Roofing Warranty

Roof warranties can vary greatly depending on the installer and materials used. Many standard warranties offer coverage from 10 to 30 years, often on a prorated basis. Conrad Roofing meets the criteria to provide CertainTeed's SureStart™ PLUS 5-STAR Warranty, which provides full non-prorated coverage for up to 50 years.

Most roofing warranties cover manufacturing defects in the shingles. Higher-level warranties like SureStart™ PLUS also cover workmanship errors, tear-off, disposal, materials, and labor during the warranty period.

Homeowners should receive warranty documentation at the time of installation. At Conrad Roofing, we provide detailed documentation for every SureStart™ PLUS warranty issued, and we're available to assist with any future warranty questions or claims.

The CertainTeed SureStart™ warranty provides basic coverage for manufacturing defects in shingles. It covers materials and limited labor for an initial period, after which coverage becomes prorated. This is the default warranty most roofers provide with CertainTeed shingles.

SureStart PLUS adds extensive protections not included in the basic warranty. With SureStart PLUS, coverage is non-prorated for up to 50 years, includes workmanship protection for 10 years, covers tear-off and disposal, and requires certified installation using CertainTeed's full Integrity Roof System.

Conrad Roofing holds CertainTeed’s SELECT ShingleMaster™ certification and installs the Integrity Roof System on every job. Because of this, every customer automatically qualifies for SureStart PLUS coverage. Conrad absorbs CertainTeed’s upgrade fee, providing maximum warranty protection at no additional charge to the homeowner.

Yes. If you sell your home within 15 years of installation, the SureStart PLUS warranty can be transferred to the new owner, adding value and peace of mind during resale.

Yes. Under SureStart PLUS, CertainTeed covers the full cost of tear-off, disposal, materials, and labor for any covered manufacturing or workmanship defect during the warranty period.

The Integrity Roof System ensures that every component—underlayments, starter shingles, ventilation, and shingles—works together as designed. It’s a requirement for SureStart PLUS eligibility and provides better long-term roof performance.
